Hastings County officials say two items in this week’s provincial budget announcement will help with the care of people in Long Term Care residences.
CAO Jim Pine told council Thursday there had never been enough money for the required four hours of “direct care” for the residents.
He pointed out that funding was increased in the provincial budget this week.
The other provincial budget item he noted was more funding for behavioural problems by the residents.
Pine also pointed to the $547 million for repairs to social housing announced in the provincial budget.
He expects some of that to come to Hastings County.
