Now there are two.
Belleville city councillor and businesswoman Kelly McCaw has officially entered the race to become the Conservative party’s candidate in next year’s federal election for Bay of Quinte Riding.
So far, the only other candidate in the running is Quinte Broadcasting’s Tim Durkin.
McCaw says she’s been a longtime member of the Conservative Party and was approached a few weeks ago about becoming a candidate.
McCaw is not impressed with the Liberal government’s big spending and what she calls their “gender based politics.”
She believes the Liberals’ approach works to divide people by gender and race, rather than bring them together.
Nominations close today (March 29).
