It may seem early, but it’s spring and that means some people in Quinte West are thinking about getting the charitable community garden underway.
Quinte West Gardens has moved to a new location, a three acre site at the end of Guelph Street in Trenton.
Spokesperson Colette Richardson says it is a charity community gardens at which the vegetables are grown by volunteers, and donated to the Salvation Army and the Food Bank.
GARDENS
Richardson says a portion of the site was prepared last year to accommodate 35 gardens. She says, in the past, many volunteers, including school children, helped with the project.
The first general meeting for the public, regarding developing the site, will be held at 11 Canal Street at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
