The Wellington Dukes put a bad loss in game 2 of their OJHL playoff behind them while putting themselves back in their series with Newmarket.
Teddy McGeen’s second period short handed goal was the difference as the Dukes beat the Hurricanes 2-1. Mitchell Martan also scored for Wellington. Dukes assistant coach Mike Farrugia liked the way his team bounced back from Sunday’s 8-1 loss.
Newmarket outshot Wellington 29-28. Jonah Capriotti was sharp in the Dukes net including a big stop late in the third period to preserve the win.
Wellington can even up the series tomorrow night in game 4 in Newmarket. CJBQ will have the play by play for Prinzen Ford Sales of Bloomfield at 7:20.
