A 28-year-old Belleville man will serve time in prison for a break-in and assault in the city’s east end early in January.
Friday, Trevor Cox pleaded guilty to assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and break and enter with intent.
He was sentenced to nine months in jail, a lifetime weapons prohibition, and was put on two years probation.
Other charges including assault with a weapon were withdrawn.
Police chased Cox down near a residence after receiving a 911 call.
There had been a break-in and a woman had suffered minor injuries in an altercation.
