Quinte West council will be asked to officially put cycling, walking, and other active transportation high on its list of priorities Monday night.
Staff is recommending council approve the Active Transportation Plan, a detailed long term consultant’s blueprint for creating a continuous and connected active transportation network in Quinte West.
Over 20 years, it’s expected the work would cost about 24 million dollars.
Right now, Quinte West has 133 km of routes designated for active transportation.
The plan would lead to a network totalling 247 km.
Quinte West council meets at 6:30 Monday at city hall.
