Stirling-Rawdon firefighters remain at the scene of a silo fire at 228 Lake Road this morning (Wednesday)
Smoke was seen coming from the big concrete silo at a beef farm in the mid-afternoon Tuesday.
The silo was filled with corn.
The Belleville Fire Department sent out its aerial truck to pour water into the top of the silo, and Centre Hastings and Marmora and Lake fire departments provided tanker support.
Those departments have left the scene, but the silo and its contents continue to smolder. No one was injured.
Stirling-Rawdon Fire Chief Derrick Little says tearing down the silo is an option if the deep seated fire continues to smolder.
