More charges have been laid against a 23-year-old man after an incident began with someone sleeping in a car on Village Drive in Belleville late Friday afternoon.
City police say a witness saw the man get out of the car with a handgun but he left the scene before police arrived.
A suspect was then seen throwing something onto the railway tracks at Sidney and West Moira streets.
Police recovered a replica handgun from the tracks.
The man was arrested and charged with possession of a dangerous weapon and six counts of breach of probation.
One of his probation conditions was not to possess a replica firearm.
Meanwhile, there was a drunken, but potentially dangerous incident on Tracey Park Drive in Belleville late Friday night.
Around 11 o’clock city police officers responded to a residence to find a 37-year-old woman brandishing a knife.
Police wrestled her to the ground and disarmed her.
She was charged with possession of a dangerous weapon.
And, a man was seriously hurt early Saturday morning after a fight at a residence on Tracey Park Drive.
The disturbance was not at the same address as the one involving a woman with a knife.
The man was taken to Belleville General Hospital by ambulance for treatment of head injuries shortly after 1 o’clock Saturday morning.
A 22-year-old Belleville man was charged with assault causing bodily harm and breach of probation.
