A Belleville man has lost the ability to go hunting for 10 years after a goose hunting incident last fall.
William Johnston pleaded guilty recently to a charge of discharging a firearm without due care and attention.
Court heard that on October 7 of last year Johnston was out goose hunting with three other men near Mitchell Side Road in the far east end of Belleville.
He fired his shotgun, hitting two hunting blinds nearby and hitting one of the other hunters with pellets.
Along with the 10 year hunting ban, Johnston was also fined $500 and must complete the Ontario Hunter Education Course.
