The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 110 in Trenton is getting some cash from the Federal New Horizons for Seniors program.
The money, announced Monday by MP Neil Ellis, will be used for a weekly food program for widowed or single seniors, where they plan menus, cook and eat together.
Ellis says the $25,000 will help seniors to continue to form strong support networks in the community.
The seniors lunch program runs at the Trenton branch every Monday and Legion representatives say the money will help to fund the program for another year.
