Dukes double Panthers
The Wellington Dukes emerged victorious in Game 1 of their Northeast Conference Final series, winning 6-3 over the Pickering Panthers.
Colin Doyle collected three assists, Mitch Martan scored twice and single goals went to Ben Evans, Mason Snell, Teddy McGeen and Andrew Rinaldi.
Jonah Capriotti stopped 15 shots to earn the win in goal.
Game 2 of this series goes Sunday night at 7:30 p.m. in Pickering.
G-Hawks lose wild affair in Aurora
The Trenton Golden Hawks battled hard, but ultimately came up short Friday night in Aurora, losing 8-5 to the first place Tigers.
Rex Moe scored a pair of powerplay markers for the G-Hawks, Tiger McDonald, Max Ewart and Mac Lewis (shorthanded) also scored for Trenton.
Carson Poulin had a tough night in net, thwarting just 14 of 21 Aurora attempts on goal.
Trenton returns home for Game 2 with a one-game series deficit. Puck drop is 7:00 p.m.
Raiders survive
In Jr C playoff action, the Napanee Raiders forced a Game 6 in their Tod Division quarter-final series with a 5-2 win over the Amherstview Jets.
Austin Labelle led the offensive attack with three points.
