The Trenton Golden Hawks couldn’t withstand a 21 shot third period barrage as the Cobourg Cougars clawed their way to a 5-4 win.
Cobourg scored twice in the third including Jacob Ball’s game winner with 18 seconds left in regulation. G-Hawks coach and general manager Marty Abrams says they didn’t give goaltender Will Rawski much help.
Max Ewart scored a goal and assist for Trenton with singles from Matt Nastasiuk, Chris Karabassis and Gage Stephney.
The Golden Hawks are home to the OJHL leading Toronto Patriots on Friday night.
