The real estate market in the the Quinte region is off to a slower start this year than in 2017.
According to stats from the Quinte District Association of Realtors, 119 residential units were sold last month.
In January of last year, 151 units were purchased.
Meanwhile the total dollar amount received from the sale of all property types last month was down 7.7% from a year ago at $42.4 million.
On a positive note, the average residential sale price last month was just over $305,000. That is significantly higher than the average residential price of $256,000 in January of 2017.
