New pay and display parking meters have been installed in downtown Picton.
Prince Edward County has replaced 72 single parking meters, with 22 of the new machines, which accept coins, credit cards, non-pin debit cards and payments through a mobile app.
Cost for parking on Picton Main Street, between Bridge and Chapel Streets, as well as Elizabeth Street, King Street and Ross Street is $1 per hour, with a two hour maximum.
There is also parking for $.50 per hour in the municipal lot on Market Lane and plenty of free parking in municipal lots on King Street and Mary Street.
During the transition to the new meters, The County is extending the “Feed The Meter Campaign” in support of Food For Learning, with pay parking resuming on March 1, 2018.
