A Hospitality Services worker at Quinte Health Care has set the bar when it comes to caring and sacrifice.
Despite her partner passing away the day before her surgery meant to try and save his life, Vicky Jackson went ahead and anonymously donated a part of her liver so some unknown person had a chance to continue living.
Ms. Jackson was honored for her selfless donation at a QHC Board of Directors meeting Tuesday.
Board member Patrick Johnston said Vicky Jackson perfectly exemplified Quinte Health Care’s values of caring and sharing.
