If you ask Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison what has helped to make his municipality so successful these last few years, he can sum it up with one word; partnerships.
Harrison addressed a full room at the Ramada in Trenton on Friday and says the reason they have been able to achieve many of their goals is because he isn’t afraid to ask his neighbours to help.
One of the big announcements made at the luncheon was a new intersection at Wallbridge-Loyalist Road and Hamilton Road in collaboration with the city of Belleville.
He says the city will be putting up lights in June and Quinte West will be looking after the paving of the road.
Other big projects for this year including having shovels in the ground on the new OPP station by this summer and the completion of the new fire station.
He also says the municipality needs to start looking at the cannabis industry as a business and something they’ll be a part of.
