Quinte Health Care will lose its chief of staff this spring.
QHC acting board chair Stuart Wright has announced that Dr. Dick Zoutman has taken a position with the newly-amalgamated Scarborough Rouge Hospital, as its first chief of staff.
Wright said that, during his six-year tenure, Zoutman put in place new processes to better support patient care and physicians, and ensured the recruitment of dozens of physicians to the organization.
In addition to being the Chief of Staff, he also continued to provide care for hospital patients in his specialty of Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases.
Wright added, “Perhaps most importantly, Dr. Zoutman was instrumental in bringing a renewed energy towards continuous quality improvement and our Grassroots Transformation that will benefit patients, staff and physicians for years to come.”
In a news release, Dr. Zoutman said . “The dedication to the caring for others that occurs every day at QHC has served as a profound source of inspiration for me. That caring obviously is first and foremost for our patients and their families, but also for each other as part of a tremendously dedicated team of health care professionals. I will bring to my new role all that I have learned and gained from my wonderful experiences at QHC.”
The QHC Board will begin the search process for a new chief of staff in the coming weeks.
