The weather may be cold and dreary, but City of Belleville staff says it’s not too soon to start thinking about planting a community garden next spring.
The city is starting the application process early, with those applications being accepted until February 20th.
The early start is to give gardeners a head-start on cool-weather plantings for veggies like kale, lettuce, chards and peas, which can be planted before the last frost.
You can click here to fill out an application, or get a hard copy by visiting Belleville City Hall, the public library, or the public works building at 75 Wallbridge Crescent.
