A Shannonville man will serve a 60-day intermittent sentence after pleading guilty late last week to impaired driving and flight from police.
Fifty-seven-year-old Timothy Barnhardt was charged last May after staff at a downtown Belleville bar told police that an unruly customer had driven away in an SUV.
Police tried to stop the vehicle, but it sped away, eventually sideswiping a three wheel motorcycle on Point Anne Road. The bike rider was not hurt.
Later, a resident told police someone had driven through a fence and into a field. That was where Barnhardt was arrested.
He also received a 3-year driving prohibition and 6 months probation.
