The funding campaign for the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation has taken a big boost, with a significant donation from the 2017 Festival of Trees fundraiser.
The Festival of Trees event brought in $40,000, with the PECMHF Auxiliary topping that off with an additional $10,000, for a $50,000 total.
Jack Starkey, chairperson for the Festival of Trees says their goal is quite simple.
Penny Rolinski, executive director of the Foundation says they are quite close to wrapping up their Picture of Health campaign.
The money will be used to purchase an Endo Works picture archive system, which captures, stores and shares images of specific parts of the body, taken during screening procedures, which has a total cost of just under $102,000.
The new equipment will allow the Picton hospital, which houses Quinte Health Care’s low-risk endoscopy centre, to screen more than 3,000 patients each year, with more accurate results.
