A man has died after an apartment in one of Belleville’s tallest buildings early Sunday morning.
Around 3:30 a.m, city firefighters, police, and paramedics responded to 249 Bridge Street West to a 16-storey apartment building known as Pineview Tower.
A fire was discovered in an apartment on floor 15. It was put out quickly and damage was contained to just the one unit.
One person was taken to hospital and was pronounced dead.
No one else was injured.
Motorists are being asked to avoid the area of Bridge Street West between Palmer Road and Sidney Street while the investigation continues.
