Hastings County is heading into 2018 investing in a new strategy to attract more tourists to the county.
Hastings County hopes to get a $60,000 program underway this year by hiring a consultant to help develop the strategy needed.
Manager of Economic Development Andrew Redden says the idea is to promote the county.
Redden says he often hears references to tourist attractions that skip over the county’s name.
Redden says Hastings County has already completed a number of strategies, such as a cultural plan and a tourism master plan.
The strategy project is expected to be completed later in the fall, depending on the county obtaining provincial funding for half the cost.
