The United Way of Hastings & Prince Edward is another big step closer to their 2017 campaign goal thanks to a generous donation from a local partner.
Employees of Procter & Gamble Belleville contributed $455,000 to the United Way in a cheque presentation, held Monday at the P&G plant in Belleville.
That puts the United Way close to 70% in its quest for $1.97 million, which it hope will be fulfilled by the end of December.
United Way Hastings & Prince Edward Executive Director Kathy Murphy says the support of P&G employees throughout the years has been extremely important for the agency and the community.
Murphy explains some of the programs to which the money will go.
Plant manager of P&G Belleville Joe Folk says he’s happy with his employees’ generous support of the United Way and its initiatives, along with the continued partnership between the two organizations.
Murphy adds over $7.5 million has been raised by P&G employees to support the Quinte community since 1991.
