G-Hawks blank Canes
A 38-save goaltending performance from Carson Poulin backstopped the Trenton Golden Hawks to a 2-0 victory in Newmarket Sunday afternoon.
Michael Silveri and Shaun Bily scored for Trenton. Alec Tiley picked up his first point as a G-Hawk with an assist.
Trenton rolls into the Christmas break with a four-game unbeaten streak and won’t play again until Dec. 30, when they visit Aurora Tigers.
Dukes dominate, fall to Jr. Sabres in double OT
The Wellington Dukes pelted 44 shots on the Buffalo Jr. Sabres net on Sunday, but couldn’t get the big goal they needed in a 3-2 double overtime loss south of the border.
Jackson Arcan and Nelson Powers scored for Wellington. Andrew Rinaldi scratched the scoresheet with two assists.
Jonah Capriotti stopped 29 of 32 shots in the Dukes net.
