Belleville is losing money on the Park and Ride bus service from the Quinte Mall for Belleville Senators games, but will give it another try.
It wasn’t a unanimous decision at city council Monday night
The question was whether or not to support the system for Phase II, from January to April, although it lost $6,800 in the fall hockey season.
Councillor Kelly McCaw argued that she feels it is a dangerous precedent to be helping a private business.
Director of Recreation Mark Fluhrer said transit is often used for events such as Waterfront festival.
The decision to fund the Park and Ride until April passed on a recorded vote of 5 to 2 with Councillors McCaw and Paul Carr voting against.
