Belleville council has been going green and if council approves the item at its meeting tomorrow, the city will take another step toward being more environmentally friendly.
Staff is proposing council buy a Mobile Water Refilling Station at a cost to the city of around $50,000. Council has set aside $55,000 in its budget.
The station would be used at summertime events with the aim being to encourage people to use refillable containers instead of using throw away plastic bottles.
The station, provided by the company Quench Buddy could also be used to supply water during boil water emergencies.
