There has been a pertussis outbreak in two schools in Hastings County recently.
Medical resident Dr. Peter Oglaza told the Board of Health Wednesday there was one case of pertussis at each of the schools recently, Tweed Elementary and Centre Hastings high school.
Oglaza said 169 students were offered early immunization the very next day and “there is no indication of transmission of the disease” to other students
He said he is not concerned.
Oglaza said all students are back at Centre HastIngs Secondary, but students with immunization exemptions are still not allowed back at Tweed elementary.
