The Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary has made a second donation to the hospital’s Re-Imagine Campaign.
Auxiliary members presented the foundation with a cheque for $50,000, which brings the group’s total contribution to the campaign to $100,000.
The money is primarily being used to help upgrade the regional MRI machine, located at Belleville General Hospital, but will also be used to purchase priority medical equipment at the hospital in Picton.
The PECMHF was tasked with funding $170,000 of the total MRI purchase and foundation officials say the most recent donation brings them within $13,000 of that mark.
The total cost to purchase the new machine is about $1 million.
