Campbellford drops high-scoring affair
A valiant effort wasn’t quite enough for the Campbellford Rebels Saturday night, losing 7-4 to the Amherstview Jets.
Andrew Ward, Dawson White, Mike Chambers and Jake Outred all scored for the Rebels.
Dryden Bedard blocked 31 pucks in net.
Campbellford visits Gananoque and Napanee treks a short distance to Amherstview in Sunday Jr. C action.
Jr. Bulls dispatch of Clarington
The Raldane Peewee AE Jr. Bulls cruised to a 6-1 road victory over Clarington Saturday.
Goals were scored by Braeden Davis(2), Jacob Donohue(2), Keegan Tugnette, Nicholas Hibbert.
Assists went to Davin Osmond(2), Rylee Cotten(2), Davis, Donohue, Nicholas Hibbert, Reese Nugent and Brody Beaubien.
Kaleb Parkinson earned the win in net.
Three Dukes try to go international
At the Team Canada East Selection Camp for the 2017 World Junior A Challenge, three Wellington Dukes have made an early impression.
Captain Colin Doyle and forward Ben Evans both scored for Team Black in a 5-2 win over Team Gold, while defenceman Mason Snell contributed an assist.
The selection camp runs until Tuesday in Etobicoke, Ont. and the tournament starts next Sunday in Truro, Nova Scotia.
