There was between $20,000 and $30,000 damage caused Wednesday morning after a fire in Brighton.
Around 8:30 a.m., crews were called to 2 Royal Gala Drive, south of Main Street.
Deputy Fire Chief Rick Caddick was the first one on scene.
Flames spread to the attic and the attached wall of the home, however fire crews were able to knock down the flames, before it spread to the rest of the house.
Working smoke alarms helped get the family and pets out safely.
One person was taken to hospital for possible smoke inhalation.
The investigation continues.
