The Quinte Economic Development Commission is working on a long list of leads to bring companies to the region.
Executive Director Chris King reported to the Commission on Tuesday that staff is following 75 leads right now.
He says this represents the potential for more than 1,600 jobs in the region.
King says the sales cycle in economic development takes a long time and points to the new company, Hain Celestial, which just opened in Quinte West.
He says, “We track leads for investment opportunities. We receive these leads from a variety of sources. Some are companies we contact directly and some are through corporate real estate site selection consultants.”
