The man who will run against County Mayor Robert Quaiff in the upcoming provincial election says he did not expect him to support Kathleen Wynne.
Todd Smith, the incumbent Conservative in Hastings Prince Edward, will be running in the Bay of Quinte riding against Quaiff, who is the Liberal candidate.
Smith says it was a big surprise to hear him running.
Quaiff made the announcement last week he is running as a Liberal, despite the fact he is still against the province’s support of wind farms in Prince Edward County.
