One of several Quinte area people involved in a big drug and weapons roundup dubbed “Project Silkstone” will serve more time in prison.
Forty-eight-year old Yvan Leclair pleaded guilty today (Friday) to weapons and cocaine trafficking, and breaching a firearms prohibition order.
He was handed two years more in jail on top of one and a half years already served, a DNA order, a lifetime weapons prohibition, and had to give up weapons, including 2 crossbows and an SKS rifle.
Project Silkstone involved several police services and targeted multiple criminal gangs trafficking in weapons and drugs along the 401 corridor.
Some of the local people charged in the busts have been dealt with, but others remain before the courts.
