Charges are pending against the 38 year-old transport driver, from Bradford, involved in a partial roll over on the 401 yesterday.
Emergency crews responded to the grass median just west of Brighton, just before 5:00 a.m., where the tractor trailer was found lying on its side.
Northumberland OPP say the truck had been travelling eastbound when it went through the median and crossed into the westbound lanes, before losing control and ending up back in the median.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash and the highway was closed until late in the afternoon.
OPP say multiple drivers were seen taking photos of the incident while they drove by and are issuing a reminder that it’s illegal to use a hand held communication device while driving.
