The dividing and sorting has begin for the Adopt-A-Child program.
Detective-Sargent Ann Earle-Dempsey, along with a number of volunteers, filled the Belleville Police gymnasium on Thursday afternoon to begin sorting through the mountain of donated snow suits and boots that will be handed out next week.
Earle-Dempsey says, this year, approximately 1,100 children and families registered for the program.
Pickups will begin on Monday, November 6, and will run until November 8, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the west garage on South John Street. People are reminded to bring the same ID they used to register their child when they come to pick up their snowsuit.
