Another meeting of Prince Edward County council, another indication from Prince Edward County politicians that they don’t want any industrial wind farms in the county.
Today (Thursday), county council’s Committee of the Whole voted wholeheartedly to support the volunteer group County Coalition for Safe and Appropriate Green Energy’s
two- pronged legal effort to stop the nine turbine WPD White Pines project from being completed.
South Marysburgh councillor Steve Ferguson says council has supported other organizations fighting the turbines and the Coalition is getting support in its fight from many other communities.
Another residents’ group, the Alliance to Protect Prince Edward County, will challenge the energy company WPD in a court hearing November 17.
The various groups fighting industrial wind turbines have spent around one and a half million dollars and counting on legal fees. And, countless volunteer hours have been spent on the cause.
WPD has been clearing land for the turbines, and continues to do so.
