It won’t be long before Bridge Street in downtown Belleville will be open to motorized traffic once more.
The work on Bridge Street East, between Front and Pinnacle streets, is the beginning of Phase III of Belleville’s Downtown Revitalization project.
Manager of Engineering Ray Ford says the work has been going very well, concrete and brick paving are wrapping up.
Phase III runs on Front Street from Bridge to Dundas Street and involves work around Market Square.
The cost of the project, which involves water and sanitary sewer systems as well, is $13.3 million bringing the whole Downtown Revitalization project to $34 million.
