The company planning to build a nine turbine wind farm in Prince Edward County is responding to the various citizens’ groups who have been criticizing the project.
WPD has issued a letter responding to 16 issues expressed over the project, including adverse effects on animals or people living near turbines, lack of regulations set by the wind power industry, WPD not meeting its obligations under the FIT program and Prince Edward County declaring itself an unwilling host for turbines.
In an email to media, Manager of Communications Kevin Surrette says
“many of the issues relate to people’s opinions of and feelings towards the project” and that some of the facts being presented “are not completely accurate”.
WPD is being taken to court by two citizens’ groups in Prince Edward County, with one court date set for November and another yet to be set.
