The mercury climbed to just over 20 degrees celsius, as measured at CFB Trenton.
As warm as that is for an October day, it was not a new high temperature record for the area.
That occurred on October 22 of 1979, when the high got up to 24 degrees.
The average high temperature for this time of year is 12.
