In the evening on October 9, 2017 officers of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to a weapons complaint in the Municipality of Hastings Highlands.
Upon arrival to the location, a male was located in possession of multiple firearms.
A total of nine firearms were seized including restricted and prohibited firearms.
As a result of the investigation, Michael Priestley, 42 years of Hastings Highlands, was charged with:
Three counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm and four counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm.
The accused was released on a promise to appear at the Ontario court of Justice in Bancroft on November 28, 2017.
