The public will notice an increase in police presence on Dundas Street from just west of RCAF Road to Division Street over the next year.
An analysis of data has shown that nearly 1 in 3 collisions on roads in Quinte West have occurred along Dundas Street in Trenton. In an effort to reduce collisions you will see more officers patrolling this busy corridor. The officers will be educating the public and enforcing the rules of the road.
The efforts to reduce collisions began on October 1st, 2017 and will continue until September 30th, 2018 and will run Wednesday to Friday from noon until 4 p.m. on those days.
The majority of the collisions involve drivers making unsafe turns, failing to yield for other vehicles or pedestrians, following too close, as well as distracted driving.
If drivers slow down, are aware of their surroundings, and pay attention to driving we can reduce collisions and make our roads safe for everyone that uses them.
