Update: According to Quinte West Fire Chief John Whelan, the Patrick Street fire was caused by an electrical issue. $200,000 in damages were reported.
Local firefighters were busy last night dealing with the aftermath of the violent wind bursts.
In Quinte West early last evening, firefighters from the Frankford hall rescued two fishermen stranded in a boat in a swamp near Anderson Island, north of Frankford.
And just after midnight, Frankford firefighters dealt with a house fire on Patrick Street in the village. A couple and their dogs escaped without injury.
The extent of damage isn’t known at this time. Firefighters were on the scene for a couple of hours.
