A new arrangement has been made to provide after-hours homeless service for Hastings County, Belleville and Quinte West.
The Canadian Red Cross announced, earlier this year, that it was dropping out of the program as of December 31.
The Hastings-Quinte Community and Human Services committee learned Wednesday that the Canadian Mental Health Association has proposed doing the job.

In the past year, the Red Cross helped 164 males, 119 females and 83 families into temporary accommodations during after hours, weekends and holidays.
The committee is recommending Hastings County Council approve the Canadian Mental Health program at a cost of $69,000 a year.
