A lot of rain was predicted for today (Monday) in southern Ontario, but now Environment Canada is calling for even more of it than it did originally.
Instead of 30 to 40 millimetres of rain, the agency now says the Quinte region should expect 50 to 70 mm.
Anything above 29.2 mm would set a new rainfall record for our area. The current record was set in 1976.
Because of the heavy rain, expect flooding in low lying areas today.
The rain is expected to stop sometime this afternoon.
