So far, this year has seen a lot of weather records broken, and it continued in September.
Last month was warmer and drier than the usual September in the Quinte region.
The warmer average high of almost 24 degrees celsius occurred because of a 5 day heat wave, the hottest of the summer, which ran from September 23 through September 27. High temperature records were shattered on each of those days.
The usual average high in September, as measured at CFB Trenton, is 21 degrees.
Last month, the average low was 11 degrees, while the usual low for the month is just under 10 degrees celsius.
Meanwhile, rainfall last month totaled just 54 millimetres.
Normally, our area receives about 90 mm of rain in September.
Mind you, we received buckets of rain in the springtime, with numerous rainfall records broken.
