October 15th has been set as the day a legal strike or lockout can begin involving unionized faculty at Ontario’s 24 public colleges, including Loyalist College.
A concilliator issued the date following the Ontario Public Service Employees Union’s request for a “no-board” report last week.
OPSEU represents more than 12,000 professors, instructors, counsellors and librarians in the province’s college system.
The union is required to give five days notice prior to going on strike, and the colleges must give five days notice of a lockout.
