A 36 year-old Trenton man has been arrested after allegedly pretending to be a member of the military and stealing money from a Loyalist Township woman.
Napanee OPP spoke to the victim this morning, who told them she had met the man on an online dating site about a month ago.
She says he befriended her and claimed to be a member of the Canadian Forces, then eventually moved into her home and began stealing from her.
Police arrested James Genereax, of Trenton and have charged him with one count each of personating a peace officer, impersonating a peace officer while using a uniform and breaching bail conditions.
He’s also charged with three counts of theft under $5,000 and two counts of theft over $5,000.
He was held for a bail hearing in Napanee on October 3rd.
