Breach of Recognizance of Bail
On September 25th, 2017, at 9:17 p.m. police attended a residence in the west end of Belleville for the purpose of ensuring a 27-year-old-male who had recently been released on a Recognizance of Bail from the Belleville courts was in compliance with his release conditions. The male had several conditions to follow which included “remain in your residence at all times unless in the presence of your surety”. Upon arrival at the residence it was quickly determined that the surety was home however the 27-year-old-male was not. An investigation began and a short time later, officers found the male hiding in a group of nearby bushes while trying to sneak back into his residence. As a result of the breach, the male was arrested, charged with breaching his recognizance and held in custody for a bail hearing.
