Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board trustees got a look at some of the work being done by staff during the summer.
Staff members were busy teaching younger students through the extended summer learning program, as well as 14 sections of summer school classes for high school students, which were taught completely through online e-learning courses.
Director of Education Mandy Savery-Whiteway tells Quinte News, the e-learning module is a perfect fit for the board and has been quite successful.
About 300 HPEDSB staff also took part in a Google summit at Bayside Secondary School during the summer, which featured 74 sessions and three keynotes over two days and gave teachers a better understanding of how to use technology in the classroom.
