Centennial Secondary School graduate Mario Gibbs has earned a bronze medal at the Ontario Powerlifting Championships in Ottawa.
Gibbs’ total lift in the squat (540 pounds), bench press (325 pounds) and the deadlift (617 pounds) was 672 kilograms or 1482 pounds.
Mario is transitioning to a lower weight class (83 kgs). Gibbs weighed in at 85.9 kgs while lifting in the 95 kilo weight division.
Gibbs will compete at the National Powerlifting Championships in Calgary in March.
